The Khobragade effect: India reduces diplomatic immunity to US

The Khobragade effect: These are the measures taken by India over its displeasure over the outrageous treatment of Indian diplomat in the US, Devyani Khobragade.

1. India to provide limited immunity to US embassy and consular staff.

2. India withdraws all airport passes for US diplomats - both from Embassy and Consulates.

3. India calls for details including salaries paid to all Indian staff employed at the US consulates, including by Consulate officers and families such as domestic help.

4. Government seeks visa and other details of all teachers at US schools and salary and bank accounts of those of Indians in these schools.    

5. Government stops all import clearances for the US embassy including liquor.

6. Government to remove all traffic barricades near the US Embassy on Nyaya Marg in Delhi except the picket.

7. India has recalled ID cards of consulate personnel and their families.
