The Supreme Court today ordered the Jaipur Police to unite
the daughter of a judge in the Rajasthan High Court with her boyfriend.
Sidharth Mukherjee had alleged that though Supriya Rathore is in love with him, her father, a judge named RS Rathore, had imprisoned her at home because he did not want the couple to marry because they belong to different castes.
The woman was presented for today's hearing by the state police on the orders of the Supreme Court. "I have no ill-will against my parents but I want to go to Sidharth Mukherjee, who I wish to marry," she told the judges.
They then ordered the Rajasthan Police to release her and let her leave the court with Mr Mukherjee. -- NDTV
