Mail Today removes fake article with Shanti Bhushan's byline
December 13, 2013  19:24
Mail Today editor Sandeep Bamzai says the paper has been duped by miscreants with a motive and sincerely apologise to Mr Shanti Bhushan for carrying what was purportedly his article.

Still clueless about the context?

Here you go: An op-ed piece purportedly written by Shanti Bhushan in Mail Today criticises Arvind Kejriwal and says the AAP chief hid his political ambitions under the garb of the anti-corruption movement.

Shanti Bhushan, a Supreme Court advocate and founding member of AAP says he has not written it and that the article is forged. Speaking to TV channels he said the BJP could be behind this and it was nothing short of a political conspiracy against AAP.

This is what Bhushan had tweeted earlier today: "The article published in mail today not written by me..Hv filed the legal notice, will sue them."

Now, Mail Today editor, Sandeep Bamzai concedes that the article is not genuine and was not written by Bhushan.

The article has since been removed. The link to the article now says:

"The article has since been removed due to lack of authenticity of authorship. Originally, the article was published under the name of eminent lawyer Shanti Bhushan who has denied having written the article. Following our investigation, we have removed that article.

Our sincere apologies for the inconvenience."
