December 13, 2013  00:23

The Bombay High court granted bail today to NCP corporator from Mumbra Hira Patil, who was arrested along with 23 others in connection with the infamous Shil-Daighar Adarsh Building crash on April 4, which claimed as many as 74 lives and injured more than 60.

However, it is not known on what grounds Patil has been granted bail by the court of Justice A R Joshi of the Bombay High Court. Patil is the fifth accused to be granted bail, while four others were given bail by the sessions court, which include a police constable and three others.

After being in jail for a little more than eight months, Patil will walk free to work in his ward. More than a dozen civic personnel including top officers had been arrested in the case, besides a couple of real estate developers.
