Mizoram Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla wins Serchhip seat. He is also leading from Hrangturzo seat.

The Congress was leading in seven seats and the MNF in one in Mizoram according to latest trends available.

Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla is seeking a fifth term. Congress candidates were also leading in Tuivawl, Tawi, South Tuipui, Hachhek and Tuichawng.

The Mizo National Front (MNF) nominee L. Thangmawia was leading in Lengteng seat where Forests Minister H. Rohluna of Congress was trailing.

The ruling Congress and the opposition Mizoram Democratic Alliance, comprising MNF, MPC and Maraland Democratic Front (MDF), contested from all 40 constituencies.
