Pakistan drops plans to send Ibne Abbas as its new envoy to India, instead career diplomat Abdul Basit likely to be the new Pakistan High Commissioner to India.

Basit who holds a Masters Degree in International Relations joined Foreign Service of Pakistan in October, 1982.
