December 08, 2013  19:46
With the Samajwadi Party failing to open its account in Delhi and Madhya Pradesh in the just-held assembly polls, party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav today dissolved the state units in the two states.

A brief statement from SP national General Secretary Ram Gopal Yadav said Mulayam Singh has dissolved the state units in Delhi and Madhya Pradesh with immediate effect.

The Samajwadi Party was banking on its traditional support base of Other Backward Classes and Muslims and had hoped to win at least seven seats in Delhi. It had fielded candidates in 27 of the 70 seats.
