Rahul Gandhi's speech follows:

Rahul says people have given the party its message, but the party has the ability to transform itself. And the Congress party is going to do just that.
The party was ready to transform itself.

He said he congratulated his opponents and said that he believed Sheila Dikshit had given good governance.

He said it was "our duty as institutions of the people to transform, ourselves. We need to give voice to the common man."

He said the Congress had to learn from the AAP to involve the common man. "Traditional parties did not do it. We will do it and we will do a better job," he said.

And a smattering of this and that: Speaking on Narendra Modi, he is the Gujarat CM was the leader of the BJP and it had its own perspectives. The Congress has a vision of this country, we have a perspective and our job is to push our perspective."

Gautam Chikermane tweets: First time, Rahul Gandhi spoke clearly, with conviction. If defeat can bring this transformation, Congress is on the right track.

Delhi tally so far: BJP:30 AAP: 23 CONG: 7  Others: 1
