December 05, 2013  20:55
A parliamentary bill for creation of Telangana state having 10 districts has been cleared by the Union Cabinet tonight.

The decision to include two districts of Rayalaseema has been scrapped. The original CWC decision of Telangana of 10 districts has been retained.

The common capital will be Hyderabad for a period not exceeding 10 years, said Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde.

Shinde says it will have special status for both states under Article 371 D of Constitution for equitable opportunities. "We want the Bill to be tabled in winter session of Parliament," he said.
