Exit polls indicate BJP victories in MP, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh
December 04, 2013  18:19
The Congress is hoping against hope that the exit polls which indicate a victory for the BJP in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh will prove wrong, reports Sheela Bhatt from New Delhi.

Congress's  estimate at the time of the close of voting hours (at 5 pm) in New Delhi is that there will be a hung assembly where neither the BJP nor the Congress will get majority.

The Congress is confident that they will win Mizoram and Chhattisgarh since they believe a huge turnout indicates a message for change.

The party's internal estimate is that in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan its chance of victory was diluted towards the last phase of campaigning.

So Congress is expecting a 2:2 score in four states and New Delhi undecided.
