According to a senior source in the Intelligence Bureau (IB) the arrest of Yasin Bhatkal was a result of a "beautiful, but typical operation." The IB source said that nabbing Bhatkal was the result of IB's ground operation. "We were following him. We got him after pursuing excellent operational tactics," said the source.

Recently, Lashkar-e-Toiba bomb maker and an accused in the 1993 bomb blasts Abdul Karmim Tunda was also 'arrested' from the Indo- Nepal border like Bhatkal. Tunda was lured to India by the RAW, while capturing Bhatkal was entirely an IB operation.

Tunda, reportedly, has blockages in his heart. He was pressurised by Indian sleuths when he was going through a weak and confused state and it is believed that he wanted to die on Indian soil.

IB sources say Tunda may not be singing enough, but Bhatkal's arrest  is very important to plan future strategies.
