Rising Ganga threatens Patna

Threat of flood loomed large over the Bihar capital as the water level in river Ganga rose well above the danger mark and is set to go up on Wednesday,and other major rivers including Sone also in spate that threatened Bhojpur and Arwal districts, officials on Wednesday said.

Despite rising river Ganga in Patna that has created fear of flood among thousands of people along its banks here, the state Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary said that there is no need for panic.
