NYT website attacked, unavailable to readers

The website of the popular American daily, The New York Times, has experienced an external attack, due to which hundreds and thousands of netizens were unable to browse it for hours.        

"Our website was unavailable to users in the United States for a period of time. The outage was the result of an external attack on our domain name registrar, and we are at work on fully restoring service," the New York Times said in a message posted on its website.
