6 killled in building collapse in Baroda

At least six people were killed after a three-storey building collapsed in Madhavnagar locality in Baroda in the wee hours of Wednesday.

The incident occurred behind Atlandara area around 4.30 am when the three-storey building came crashing down, catching the sleeping occupants unawares, said H J Tapariya, chief fire brigade officer of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation.

Manish Bhardwaj, Vadodara municipal commissioner, Satish Sharma, city police commissioner, Mayor Bharat Shah and other senior officials have rushed to the site.
