Why are DMK MPs upset with Rahul?

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Sunday morning telephoned Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam leader Vijaykant to greet him on his 61st birthday.

This has upset the cadres of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam -- as many MPs recall that Rahul Gandhi had never greeted DMK patriarch Karunanidhi on his birthdays.

Last year Rahul Gandhi was in Chennai on the day of Karunanidhi birthday but did not visit Gopalapuram to garland or present Karunanidhi a yellow angawastharam.
