Live! UK envoy: Engagement with Narendra Modi is NOT endorsement
August 22, 2013  18:21
British high commissioner to India, James Bevan, tells CNN IBN that the UK government is not endorsing Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi. He says that the best way to get justice is to engage the Gujarat government. "We have our concern regarding the riots that took place in 2002.  We want justice for three British nationals killed in the riots."

Modi was in the UK on the invite of the British government, to speak on the 'The Future of Modern India', in the House of Commons. The move ends UK's decade-long boycott of Modi following the 2002 Gujarat riots.
