This is what happened in the Rajya Sabha: Ram Gopal Yadav (SP) sought a response from the Prime Minister on the falling rupee value against the US dollar and an "economic emergency" like situation developing in the country.
When Dr Maitreyan raised the issue of his notice for suspension of Question Hour, Hamid Ansari, who was in the chair, said, "There will be no suspension of Question Hour. If you want, have a discussion (on the issue)."
As Rajeev Shukla stood up to speak, Dr Maitreyan continued with his demand. At this point, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs V Narayanasamy asked him to sit down and listen to what Shukla was saying. "Minister is standing," Narayanasamy said. To this an angry Maitreyan, shot back, "who are you" and continued to repeat the statement several times.
