Egypt clears conditional release of Mubarak from jail

Egypt's state prosecutor today cleared the release of former dictator Hosni Mubarak, who has been in prison since 2011 on charges of corruption and killing protesters, but he will be put under house arrest while he stands trial.

The prosecutor's office "formally orders the release of ex-President Hosni Mubarak", BBC reported, quoting military sources.
