The DMK today officially distanced itself from former telecom minister and 2G accused A Raja. It has decided not to defend  Raja at the Joint Parliamentary Committee on the 2G scam.

The party will have to fill up the vacancy of Trichy Siva who has retired from the Rajya Sabha, but DMK has refused to do it. The reason is that Tamil Nadu Congress MLAs voted for DMK chief Karunanidhi's daughter Kanimozhi for the Rajya Sabha seat. So, in a sense, this is a thank you note.

In this lies a message for Raja, that he will not be given a ticket for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
