2G: Anil Ambani reaches Delhi court as prosecution witness
August 22, 2013  09:30
Reliance ADAG Chairman Anil Ambani has reached a Delhi court to depose as a prosecution witness in the 2G spectrum case.

His appearance follows a Delhi court on Wednesday dismissing Reliance Telecom Ltd's plea for a postponement of the examination of Anil Ambani and his wife Tina in the 2G case, saying no prejudice would be caused to any accused by their deposition.

Dismissing Reliance Telecom Ltd's plea, Special CBI judge OP Saini said yesterday that no such prayer for the postponement of examination of witnesses has been made by either Anil Ambani or Tina Ambani.

The Supreme Court too had declined to pass any order on Reliance Telecom Ltd's plea yesterday for a stay of the trial court's direction summoning Anil Ambani and other witnesses in the 2G case.

Reliance Telecom Ltd had made an oral plea before an apex court bench headed by Justice GS Singhvi in an attempt to get an interim order for exempting Ambani from appearing in the case today.
