Rediff.com's Neeta Kolhatkar reports: Pressure from all quarters in Maharashtra after Dr Narendra Dabholkar's murder has compelled the state government to take a stand on the anti-superstition bill. As a tribute to the slain rationalist, the government has agreed to sign an ordinance on anti-superstition.

Dabholkar, who was in the forefront of a campaign to persuade Maharashtra government to pass an anti-superstition and black magic bill, was shot dead in Pune on Tuesday morning by unknown assailants. More
