Pak violates ceasefire at LoC today -- eight in four days

Details on the ceasefire violations along the LoC today. There was heavy exchange of fire on the border as Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire yet again this morning -- the eighth in the last four days -- targeting Indian Border posts in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir.

"There was firing by Pakistani Rangers on Narianpur  Border Out Post (BoP) in Ramgarh forward area in Samba district around 0730 hours", a BSF officer said. The firing came from Ashraf post of Pakistan. BSF troops guarding the border line retaliated effectively, resulting in exchanges, he said.

There was no loss of life or injury to any one in the firing from Pakistan, the officer said, adding that in view of the firing, troops have been put on alert.
