J&K home minister Sajjad Kichloo offers to resign after the opposition says he was present during the Kishtwar violence. BSP chief Mayawati and BJP senior leader Arun Jaitley have demanded action against Kichloo. Jaitley said government functionaries remained mute spectators when the violence unfolded.
Kichloo says he is innocent and political parties were trying to malign him.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has ordered a time-bound judicial probe into the violence.
