Update on the Durga Shakti Nagpal story.

The Samajwadi Party today suggested that IAS officer Durga Shakti Nagpal, who was controversially suspended last month in Uttar Pradesh, should apologise. "She did not do her duty....she destroyed the credibility of the cadre," said Ahmed Hasan, a minister in the state government that's headed by Akhilesh Yadav.

Continuing the party's rant against the bureaucrat, he described her as "mindless" and added, "When we reveal which family she belongs to, then you will realize what are you supporting." -- NDTV.

Yadav and his party say that on July 27, Ms Nagpal endangered communal harmony in a village in Noida by asking for the removal of a wall of a new mosque being built there, funded partly by local Samajwadi leaders.

Meanwhile, more support for Nagpal: Punjab deputy chief minister says Nagpal is welcome to join her home cadre in Punjab.

UP Waqf Board says the mosque wall was demolished by the land mafia to frame Nagpal and the board would write to President asking for her reinstatement.
