Five tourists on their way to Munnar killed in landslide

Landslides triggered by heavy rains have led to the deaths of five people in the hilly district of Idukki in Kerala. They were believed to be tourists on their way to the hill station of Munnar.

Nearly 100 metre of road linking the hilly district with the rest of the state have been blocked by boulders and rubble crashing down in landslides.

Rescue operations are underway.
