Hyderabad should be UT or joint capital: Chiranjeevi

Appearing reconciled to the decision to carve Telangana state out of Andhra Pradesh, Congress leader and Union Tourism Minister K Chiranjeevi today said Hyderabad should be made a Union Territory or the permanent joint capital of both the states.

Actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi, who hails from coastal Andhra region, is not inclined to quit the government as he argued that he can work towards addressing the problems of Andhra and Rayalaseema regions by being in "power".

"I feel power is needed to argue on behalf of the people.To get things implemented for them in Seemandhra. If I cannot get things done for them, if I cannot fulfill their aspirations, then I will think of resigning," he said.
