Sajjan Kumar acquitted: Protestors throw shoes at judge
April 30, 2013  15:24
An anguished Jagdish Kaur who is a witness and petitioner in the case says she should be hanged, not Sajjan Kumar. Protestors outside the Karkardooma court have thrown shoes at the judge. Three others, co-accused in the case have been convicted.

Sajjan Kumar is charged with murder and rioting, and in 2010, a lower court charged him and others for spreading enmity between two communities in the Sultanpuri case, as well.

The same year, the Supreme Court refused to quash the charges against him and said the trial would continue. It had also pulled up the CBI for failing to conclude its arguments. It may be recollected that the case against another Congress leader Jagdish Tytler also accused for his role in the anti-Sikh riots, has been reopened.
