Lok Sabha to pass key Finance Bill

The key Finance Bill is likely to be passed in Lok Sabha on Tuesday, with a temporary truce achieved between the treasury and opposition benches on the clearance of all money-related bills. 

The Finance Bill cannot be delayed beyond Tuesday as per rules of procedure in Parliament. 

The government has to pass all money bills within 75 days of the Budget speech. After being passed in the Lok Sabha, the money bills will go to the Rajya Sabha and then to the President for his assent. 

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath told the media on Monday that the government has decided to take up all financial business of the session on Tuesday, including the Railway Budget, the general demands for grants, the Appropriation Bill and the Finance Bill.
