Coal-gate: Details in CBI affidavit very disturbing, says SC

The Supreme Court which is hearing the coal scam case today to decide whether the government tried to influence the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe has said there is a very disturbing feature in the affidavit. "Sharing information with the government has shaken the entire process. Why was the court kept in the dark about sharing the probe report with government, the SC asks the CBI. The SC says that CBI's independent position must be restored.

As the government gears to deal with the CBI director's affidavit in the apex court on Tuesday, the letter written hours before the crucial hearing is further going to embarrass the government.
