Coal scam: CBI Director files affidavit in SC
April 26, 2013  11:50
CBI Director Ranjit Sinha says in affidavit before Supreme Court that the status report on the coal allocation scam was shared with the Law Minister as desired by him.

"The status report was also shared with joint secretary-level officers of PMO and Coal ministry as desired by them," Sinha said in two-page affidavit. The CBI chief promises not to share further status report with any political executive.

The CBI Director filed a personal affidavit in the Supreme Court stating whether or not Law Minister Ashwani Kumar reviewed the agency's report on the coal scam. The affidavit will state whether the minister suggested a "list of alterations" that were then cleared by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).
