The Supreme Court today decided to watch the controversial Punjabi film "Sadda Haq" which allegedly glorifies the era of extremism and its abettors before taking a call on the ban imposed by governments of Delhi, Punjab and the Union Territory of Chandigarh.

A bench comprising Chief Justice Altamas Kabir and justices A R Dave and Vikramajit Sen said they will watch the film tomorrow morning at the apex court precincts in the presence of senior advocates Fali S Nariman and Rajeev Dhavan before passing its order.

The bench said two women advocates -- Indira Jaising, who is the Additional Solicitor General, and senior advocate Rebecca John -- would also be present during the screening of the film. It said they would be assisting the bench in the capacity of amicus curiae and the advocates for both sides would be at liberty to be present during the screening of the film.
