TMC MP with links to Saradha Group may be axed

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who has been facing heat over the issue with opposition blaming it for the proliferation of chit fund companies after the Trinamool Congress came to power, had ordered the arrest of the Chairman and the Managing Director of Saradha Group, Sudipta Sen.

According to media reports, Sudipta Sen, his wife Piyali, their children, and director Debjani Mukherjee and their driver Rajiv have been traced to Kashmir. A team of West Bengal police is leaving for Kashmir via Delhi. Apart from Sen and Mukherjee, another associate of the company has also been arrested.

The board of directors of the group consists of 15 members and the name of three of them Manoj Nagel, Sudipta Sen and Debjani Mukhopadhyay feature in all the companies belonging to the group.
