Assam rape case: Victim's mother says her throat was slit

Assam rape: The mother of the nine-year old girl who was raped and murdered, has claimed that her daughter's throat was slit with a knife and was left to die.
"They claimed they were nearby residents. Then, they closed my mouth and threw me aside, and dragged my girl off. Within a fraction of a second, they were not to be seen. After sometime, a few people came and said, that an unidentified body was left near the lake and the neck was slit. Then, we rushed to the spot and recovered her. She was in a terrible state and was bleeding," she said.
Earlier, the victim, who lives in Karimganj, had gone to pay a visit to her grandfather in Pechachora village, when two unidentified persons with covered faces abducted her.
"They claimed they were nearby residents. Then, they closed my mouth and threw me aside, and dragged my girl off. Within a fraction of a second, they were not to be seen. After sometime, a few people came and said, that an unidentified body was left near the lake and the neck was slit. Then, we rushed to the spot and recovered her. She was in a terrible state and was bleeding," she said.
