Five Lankan Tamil refugees arrested

Five Sri Lankan Tamil refugees were arrested in Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu while awaiting a ferry, reportedly for illegally travelling to the neighbouring country, officials said today.

A Lankan Tamil refugee lodged at the Mandapam camp had assured the other four refugees from Bhavanisagar camp near Coimbatore that they would be sent to Sri Lanka, officials added.
