EC seized Rs 1.6 crore in Bangalore

Vicky Nanjappa reports: The Special Election Squad in Karnataka has seized cash worth Rs 1.6 crore which was allegedly being used to bribe voters in Bangalore. 

The money was seized a while ago by the Election Commission, after it received a tip-off, at Nelamangala area in the city. 

The Election Commission has not yet ascertained who the money belongs to. 

This is the fifth such seizure in the state after the election notification was issued. 

Rs 12 lakh was seized in a similar manner from Bidadi near Bangalore on Friday.

The EC has also seized liquor, insurance policies and watches, which were allegedly being used to bribe the voters before the assembly polls.
