"If students of Presidency college can be treated like this, the reverberation goes far beyond this college, this city. Keep the faith. I urge you stand up. Don't give up," says Narayanan. 

"I'm not here to blame parties. Politics in India has become coarser. But the incident should never have happened. But there is no conscious effort to harm the university. The chief minister has assured us support," he says.
