Why was 10-year-old locked up, SC asks UP

The Supreme Court has asked the Uttar Pradesh government to explain how a 10-year-old child, who was allegedly sexually assaulted, was put behind bars by the state police.

The child had to spend almost an entire day in lock-up after her mother took her to a police station in Bulandshahr to register a complaint about the assault.
