RSS, BJP agree not to project anyone as PM candidate

The RSS and the BJP have agreed that they will not project anyone as a prime ministerial candidate before or during the 2014 general elections.

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and his associates have, according to a website, decided that the BJP must not project anyone as the prime ministerial candidate. The decision was reached after consultations with BJP president Rajnath Singh and BJP Parliamentary Party chairman LK Advani.

The decision is the outcome of an all India survey of 543 Lok Sabha constituencies.
