12-hour bandh called in Siliguri
April 11, 2013  08:41
Trinamool Congress has called a 12-hour bandh in Siliguri in north Bengal, in the wake of violent clashes between cadres of the ruling party and opposition CPI-M.

Such clashes have been reported from across the state since Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was attacked by Left Front student activists in Delhi on Tuesday.

Leaders of both Trinamool and CPI-M have urged their supporters to desist from violence, but to no avail.

The two parties have also been busy blaming each other for the violence.
