Mandela much better, making steady progress: SA

Anti-apartheid icon and former South African President Nelson Mandela is responding "satisfactorily" to treatment and is doing "much better" after spending a week in a hospital for pneumonia, the presidency said today.

"President Nelson Mandela continues to make steady improvement in the hospital," it said.
