Supreme Court gets cracking on Babri, spectrum cases

The Supreme Court on Tuesday sought an affidavit from the senior law officer of the Centre explaining the delay in filing an appeal against L K Advani and others in Babri Masjid demolition case. 

The top court also questions the CBI for the delay in challenging the Allahabad high court's ruling that conspiracy charges will not apply to Advani and others. 

In another case, the Supreme Court has decided to hear Bharti Cellular Ltd CMD Sunil Mittal's plea against the summoning order by a court in the additional spectrum allocation case. The matter has been posted for hearing on April 8.
