Union minister gets PM's welcome

A correspondent from Delhi reports: India's intelligence agency RAW recently celebrated its Raising Day. But the timing of raising the toast coincided with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's national address.

The PM's address delayed several senior ministers, who arrived late for the event. Also present were chiefs of security agencies and paramilitary forces.

When a Union minister arrived for the event, he was given a rousing welcome usually reserved for someone like the PM.
