1.5 million Syrians need food aid: UN agency
September 25, 2012  12:41
The number of Syrians needing food aid has increased from 2,50,000 in April to 1.5 million in September, the United Nations has said.

The UN's World Food Programme warned that it is running short of funds to cover operations in Syria because of sharply growing needs.

World Food Programme chief Ertharin Cousin said the agency had raised 78 million dollars, but it needs 60 million dollars more to cover its annual Syria budget, Fox News reported.
