Mamata to lead dharna against FDI on Oct 1

Mamata Banerjee to hold dharna on October 1 in New Delhi to protest against government's reforms on FDI in retail and hike in diesel prices.

On Friday, the Trinamool Congress formally withdrew its support from the UPA government.

The Trinamool chief wrote on Facebook, "On 1st October, we, on behalf of the All India Trinamool Congress, will be organising a demonstration at Jantar Mantar at New Delhi. We all will be present to highlight these issues and request the Central Government to withdraw the anti-people decisions. I am requesting all of you to please come and tell your friends also to join the democratic demonstration at 1 pm on 1st October, 2012."
