September 22, 2012  13:33
In a relief to tennis players Mahesh Bhupati and Rohan Bopanna, the Karnataka high court today stayed the suspension of the duo by All India Tennis Association.

Bhupati and Bopanna were banned for two years by AITA after they refused to partner Leander Paes at the London Olympics. They were banned from representing the country till June 30, 2014 on disciplinary grounds.

Justice Mohan Shanthan Goudar while hearing the petition filed by Bhupathi ordered a stay on the ban until further orders, reports rediff.com's Vicky Nanjappa.

The court has sent a notice to AITA about the stay order, and said that they can reply to the order.

Bhupathi challenged order terming it as unconstitutional and said that an opportunity had not been given.
