Assam keen to have Bangladesh consulate

Assam government is keen to have a consulate or trade office of Bangladesh here to further relations between the north eastern states and Dhaka.

An official statement issued today said the issue was raised during a meeting between Indian High Commisioner to Bangladesh Pankaj Saran and Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi during the day.

The chief minister asked Saran to take up the matter with concernend officials in Dhaka.
