End violence: Jaya tells Kudankulam protestors

Tamil Nadu Chife Minister Jayalalithaa asked anti- Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant protestors and fishermen not to indulge in violence.  

The Kudankulam plant is safe, she said.  

One person died in police firing as protests against the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant in Tamil Nadu became more intense on a day that fuel was to be loaded in the first of two 1,000 megawatt reactors to enable it to start producing power. The situation in Kudankulam and Tuticorin is under control.

Extra police force has been deployed around Kudankulam.
