Jawan killed, 6 hurt in Manipur bomb blast

An Assam Rifles jawan was today killed and six others were injured, two of them seriously, when a powerful bomb allegedly planted by insurgents exploded in Manipur's interior Bishenpur district.

Official sources said the explosion occurred when a grouppersonnel belonging to 33rd Assam Rifles battalion werejogging at Kumbi area, about 45 km south east of here.

The para military forces posted at Moirang and Sendra usedto jog in the area almost daily.
