Samajwadi Party MP Naresh Agrawal, who had a scuffle with BSP MP Avatar Singh Karimpuri inside the Rajya Sabha, defended his action saying he was provoked by the Bahujan Samaj Party leader and denied the parliamentary right of expressing his opinion.
Agarwal said he was not trying to tear up the promotion quota bill, but was just protesting against it. "I have had 25 years in Parliament but I have never seen that an MP has been not allowed to express his opinion," said Agarwal.
"The BSP MPs were misbehaving with me. I didn''t try to tear the bill...we wanted that division of votes should be there," he added.
