Oscar Pistorius failed to defend his gold medal at the Paralympic Games after being beaten into second place by Alan Oliveira in Sunday''s 200m final, and Dr David James, a sports engineer at Sheffield Hallam University, believes the reason behind his shock loss his too much focus on the Olympics.

Pistorius, whose brand is built on being the fastest man on no legs did not take kindly to his first ever Paralympic defeat over the distance, and faces a possible fine from the International Paralympic Committee for alleging that double amputee winner Oliveira's victory was unfairly aided by the length of his blades.
